Playground
On the „playground“, all the things may find their place that are created alongside my figurative main work – be it as a subsidiary branch of my creative work, as a game, as a training, as a divergent experiment or as a proving train of thought.
Nothing is permanent. In order not to overload this site, the contents change in short periods partially or completely. The playground is not intended to be a blog – hence you´ll not find the contents in an archive later. Things come and then go again.
If you remember parts of my earlier work and if you´d like to see them on the „Playground“ for a time, just send me an e-mail! Then I will be pleased to dedicate a gallery with the requested content to you.
Auf dem „Spielplatz“ sollen all die Dinge ihren Platz bekommen, die neben meinem malerisch-figürlichen Hauptwerk entstehen – sei es als Nebenzweig meines Schaffens, als Spiel, als Training, als divergentes Experiment oder erprobender Gedankengang.
Nichts ist von Dauer. Um diese Seite nicht zu überladen, wechseln die Inhalte in kurzen Zeiträumen teilweise oder komplett. Der „Spielplatz“ soll kein Blog sein und kein Archiv haben. Die Dinge kommen und gehen.

The exhibition „Siegfried Räth – Guided Connection“ was shown from December 1, 2020 to May 16, 2021 in the Kleinsassen Art Station. The short exhibition film above gives you an impression of the wonderful premises of the Art Station and of course also of my works.
Die Ausstellung „Siegfried Räth – Geführt verbunden“ wurde vom 1. Dezember 2020 bis zum 16. Mai 2021 in der Kunststation Kleinsassen gezeigt. Der kurze Ausstellungsfilm oben gibt Ihnen einen Eindruck von den wunderbaren Räumlichkeiten der Kunststation und natürlich auch von meinen Werken.

Over the past two years, I have created several large-format paintings in my studio — works that are abstract, gestural, and intensely colorful. They resemble landscapes, yet they do not depict landscapes recreated from memory. Rather, they are sediments of memory settling onto a stage that evokes a landscape-like atmosphere.
Über die vergangenen zwei Jahre sind In meinem Atelier mehrere großformatige Bilder entstanden, abstrakt, gestisch und in intensiver Farbigkeit. Sie ähneln Landschaften – aber sie stellen keine Landschaften dar, die ich aus dem Gedächtnis wiedererschaffe. Sie sind eher Sedimente von Erinnerungen, die sich auf einer landschaftlich anmutenden Bühne niederschlagen.
The painting process is guided by intuition and spontaneity; it is highly demanding, as the final outcome remains uncertain until the very end, and the degree of pictorial order must be balanced against the dynamics of the process itself. There are phases of wild, frenetic activity, followed by periods of calm, deep reflection. Ultimately, the result is a compositional structure that does justice to both temperaments.
Es ist ein von Intuition und Spontanität geleitetes Malen, sehr anstrengend, weil das Ziel bis zuletzt nicht feststeht und der Grad der Bildordung mit der Dynamik des Prozesses ausgewogen werden muss. Es gibt sehr wilde Phasen des Arbeitens, dann auch wieder ruhige, sehr reflektierte Abschnitte. Am Ende sollte eine kompositionelle Struktur entstanden sein, die beiden Temperamenten Rechnung trägt.
